It's a boy!!!

~21 weeks 4 days pregnant~

We had an awesome appointment this morning and were able to find out that we're having a wonderful little BOY! We were in a bit of shock at first because we were both convinced it was a girl. Every single old wives tale symptom pointed to girl. The chinese and lunar calendars pointed to girl. My mother's instinct pointed to girl. And just about everyone else around us thought it would be a girl as well. I guess our little man proved everyone wrong!

Our little guy was moving and shaking all around during the entire ultrasound and we got some great pictures of him - face, lips, spine, feet, belly, head and that adorable profile view! Oh, and his boy parts of course which he wasn't at all shy in showing off for us! Maybe a sign of trouble to come...He is measuring right on track and currently weighs 1lb 1oz. His heartbeat today was 156 - definitely a little mover and shaker!

Ryan and I are absolutely thrilled to be expecting a little baby boy and we can't wait to meet him in February. It definitely feels more real now and we can't wait to start shopping and decorating the nursery. Okay, I started shopping already - I picked up a few cute outfits on the way home today - I couldn't resist! We only have 4 more months to build his wardrobe :-)

We'll get to see our little guy again 8 weeks from now. They discovered that I have a low-lying placenta today, which isn't a huge concern, but my doctor wants to monitor it for any complications. Typically it corrects itself, but if it not, it poses no risk to me or baby. But, the good news is that we get another ultrasound! YAY!

Hope that everyone is doing well and we'll talk to you soon!

Football and our BIG ultrasound

21 weeks pregnant
We took a trip out to Blacksburg last weekend to watch the Hokies play Boston College. We had an awesome time and it was fun catching up with old college friends! And of course, we won the game which made things even better! I also got to wear my "Future Hokie" maternity t-shirt which was really cute! Now that I finally have a noticeable baby bump, its fun to get comments from strangers :-)

I'm walking today in a Breast Cancer 5k fundraiser with my friend Julie. The temperature has taken a nose dive in VA so I'll have to bundle up! But, I'm looking forward to getting some exercise and helping a good cause.

Ryan and I are super excited for our BIG ultrasound appointment on Tuesday morning so that we can finally discover if we're having a boy or a girl. I swear I never thought this day would come!!! I did a little shopping with my mom, neice and sisters yesterday and got a few cute baby things in both boy and girl just in case. The deals were too good to pass up! And don't worry I'll be sure to post a note here on Tuesday and send an email as well to let you all know what we're having.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Belly Pictures!

Our new computer is up and running! YAY! So, we can finally share some pictures of my growing baby bump. We actually weren't able to transfer the files from our old computer, so we're missing the first picture (week 13). But I'm posting the first few to get us started. ENJOY!

We ordered the nursery furniture

We originally planned to register and order all of our furniture after we find out the sex of the baby. But, after our doctor's appointment this week, I started to freak out since we won't find out until I'm almost 22 weeks. I've heard crazy stories about how long furniture can take to come in, so I started stressing out about being far behind on this. So, we went shopping today and got an awesome deal on our furniture from USA Baby. We only paid $99 for the crib! Whoo hoo! We checked out the options at Babies R Us as well, but they didn't seem as high quality and they were actually much more expensive.

We ordered a crib, double dresser (to use as a changing table as well) and the bed side rails (to convert to a double bed eventually) from Cocoon in the Espresso finish. What do you think?

Oh, and we also bought our new computer today. So, hopefully if all goes as planned, I will be able to post some pictures tomorrow.
